Bridging the Gap

In high-end retail, “Digital Transformation” isn’t just about a pretty storefront — it’s about operational integrity. When I took on the Crave project, the challenge was clear: bridge the divide between a bustling physical boutique in Lafayette and a global e-commerce engine, all within the constraints of Lightspeed’s proprietary ecosystem. The goal wasn’t a redesign. It was the engineering of a unified inventory logic that could handle the complexity of in-house product lines in real-time, without a single SKU falling through the cracks.

The Challenge: The "Double-Sell" Problem

For boutique owners, the greatest fear is the inventory desync — selling the last unit of a signature in-house item to a walk-in customer at the exact moment an online order lands. Within a proprietary ecosystem like Lightspeed, the “walled garden” constraints make custom synchronization notoriously difficult. There’s no native hook, no built-in failsafe. One oversight and you’re on the phone with an angry customer explaining how the same jacket sold twice in five minutes.

The Solution: Engineered Logic & Real-Time Sync

I approached this as a systems architect, not a web designer. The storefront needed to behave as a single unified engine — not two separate systems held together with workarounds. My focus locked onto three core pillars:

01

Unified Inventory Logic

Developed a centralized SKU tracking system for Crave's in-house lines, ensuring every unit was accounted for across both the POS and the digital checkout simultaneously — in real time.

02

Lightspeed Optimization

Mastered the technical constraints of the Lightspeed Instant Site framework to deliver a luxury UX that didn't compromise on the heavy backend lifting. Fast front end, bulletproof back end.

03

High-Performance Architecture

Streamlined the entire path to purchase and optimized the site for raw speed — achieving a 45% lift in conversion rates while maintaining the premium feel the Crave brand demands..

The Result

Whether a customer is shopping the racks in Lafayette or browsing from across the country at 2am, the data is consistent, the branding is seamless, and the infrastructure is built to scale. No desyncs. No double-sells. No fire drills. The Crave storefront now operates as one unified commerce engine — physical and digital, locked in sync.

“From the first line of code to the final frame of the promotional content, we ensured absolute consistency across every digital touchpoint.”
